just put in a new, skip white mini starter, it started right up 4 or 5 times then the gear would ingage but not turn, took it out and bench tested it and the same thing, gear came out but did not turn, any ideas

Same thing happened to me, send it back and they will replace for free, no questions asked. They are used to it. My second one works perfect.

turns out they are not selling those any longer cause they have had to many problems with them, which was a suprise due to so many members suggesting them. The good new is they were stand up about it and said they would give me my money back. So now does anyone have any other suggestions on wich mini starter to buy

I got my one wire alternator from DBElectrical and they are very good and still low priced. I believe they also sell on Ebay.
