Speedo cable for 82 C10 ?

Hi all,
I got an 82 c10 which didn't have a speedo cable fitted when I got it, it was originally a 305/t350. Its still has a T350 with a screw in end, and it looks like it clipped into the back of the instrument cluster.

Ive been told there's 2 types, one that uses a corrector box mounted to the inner guard and one that doesn't, is there any way I can tell which one it had originally ?

I have an 82 that was originally equipped with a 305/700R4 and cruise control. I had problems with the cruise control unit mounted on the left inner fender and just went and got a speedometer cable for the same truck without cruise and it works fine. The original used 3 different cables 1 out of the trans, 1 between the trans and the cruise control unit, and 1 from the cruise control unit to the dash. I used the original lower cable and then a new upper cable from a truck without cruise. Have not had any problems other than the exhaust melting the lower cable once.
