5.3 swap
What oil pan is everyone using that is doing the ls swap? My motor doesnt seem to sit as low as I thought it would, but I'm running a Flat Out Engineeering crossmember and the corvette rack is keeping the motor from sitting any lower. Currently I have a truck oil pan mounted.

Re: 5.3 swap
i used the truck pan with home made adapter plates to the stock perches. i've heard a camaro/trans am pan fits and offers more ground clearance. my motor sits about as low as possible using the stock crossmember. i'm sure some other guys will chime in, i think theres a few on here who have done the conversion.

Re: 5.3 swap
Not for sure about in a truck but I know that swapping into a Gbody folks are using a CTS-V pan. They have more clearance.

Re: 5.3 swap
My '66 has the stock crossmember with ECE motor mounts and the stock pan fits perfectly.

Re: 5.3 swap
I am fitting a LS motor right now in my 65. It had the Trailblazer pan and I had to switch to the Silverado pan. I was able to put the crank centerline at the same height as the original 283 I took out. The bottom of the pan sits well below the cross member. It looks like a shorter pan with a longer sump might work as well.
