Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

Where was the "black leather seats" he wrote about?

Plus it has expired CA plates, so there is gonna be some title transfer hurdles to do. Not sure bout WV, but in CA it's usually a hassle.

Didn't really understand the "Very low mileage - 68,706." thing either. Oh, maybe that's the actuall mileage? I was thinking he was trying to say some sort of engine size.

Oh well, still looks like a nice rig. Just askin to much IMO.

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

It's a great deal for the seller if he gets that.Original?
I don't ever recall a leather seat option.Besides that they're the scroll pattern common to the better optioned trucks.
Cassette deck?I don't recall that either.
Green heater box?Looks like it was painted to me but I've never seen one body or interior color.
And I am no expert on options(or anything else for that matter)

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

My bet is that like a lot of guys he is using Ebay for inexpensive world wide advertising and doesn't expect or really want a bid.
Compared to advertising in my local daily paper Ebay is a real inexpensive way to advertise. Get an email from someone who wants to look at it and then make the deal.
Here in the valley he would be hard pressed to get 7K without it being four wheel drive.

As a side note: About six years ago I had two cars that I wanted to sell basically as parts cars. The local daily wanted 75.00 at that time to run a 25 word three day add with no picture. I'm not sure what a 7 day Ebay add would be on that truck but I'd bet about half that and no extra fees if it doesn't get a winning bid. And if someone is nuts enough to cough up the 15K the seller made out like a bandit.
Now lets get a thousand guys putting it on their watch list and let him go nuts thinking he is going to get a bid on it.

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

You're supposed to put a non-op if you're not going to use it here, otherwise they put on a penalty for expired registration. Even non-op costs you money. I'm not sure why, you're not wearing out the roads, or spending their money in any way except paperwork. I guess it's just California.

cali looks at it as property tax... instead of a road tax.
BS IMO.

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

Non-Op is a one time fee of $10. BS yes, but super cheap.

I put a non-op on my '69 CJ-5 in 2001. That breaks down to about $1 a year to keep it current. It's the only tax/fee that I don't complain about.

There is an old saying that anything I have for sale for the right price. With the advent of Ebay, you can put those words and pictures on the net.

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

The non op thing is a great idea... it's the back fees on a vehicle that was not non-op'd that is total bogus BS.

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

I'm gonna give you $15,000 for a truck with one distant view of the engine compartment? All I can see of the engine is a chrome air cleaner. For $15,000 there better be a 502 with a blower in there!

Re: Do You think this is a little Pricey ?

I think I will buy it and then mark it up and try to resell it for profit. You don't see many with the original fiberglass bed topper, cassette deck, and leather seats still intact. Might have to scrub the dna out of the carpet first though.
