Re: difference in centerlinks??
Yes, there is a difference. The center link used on those with drum brakes (67 68 69 70) is different then the center link on those with disk brakes (71 72). When I changed my 69' Shortbed to disk brakes (used all 72 front end parts) I went to the local junk yard and found a center link from a 72' and paid $10 bucks

Re: difference in centerlinks??
There is a different taper angle between the two and seems the hole size is slightly different. If you try to use the 71/72 inner tie rods on the earlier years center link you risk causing excess play.

Re: difference in centerlinks??
I see....is the center link also "bowed" slightly? I have seen several that look that way, and was wondering if this was normal, or the result of an accident?

Re: difference in centerlinks??
As of today i finished my five lug swap. The outer tie rods are also different. I bought a whole center link with inner and outer tie rods and all the parts attached and just swapped everything out. Easy swap.....
