Stars In Paint Job
Does anyone know how to hide the stars you get in fenders from a rock hitting the underside. The paint job on this truck isn't new. It was shot with Imeron paint I believe.

Re: Stars In Paint Job
What I did on mine was undercoat the underside of my inner fenders. My truck is not a daily driver but it does get driven on the weekends and so far so good...

Re: Stars In Paint Job
Yea, I know how it happens and I'm going to do a roll on bed liner type coating. I just can't figure out how to hide the stars right now other than repainting which I'm not going to do. The truck is black so they show up !

Re: Stars In Paint Job
I go to my local tire retread shop and buy sheats of rubber "cushion". Glue it to the backside of the fender. It's probably 1/8" thick. Works really good to prevent the dreaded "stars". I discovered this about 15 years ago. I always do it on street rod fenders or stepside pickup fenders.
Put a car cover on it and never take it off. That should hide em! LOL!

Re: Stars In Paint Job
Yea I got one on mine from those darn heavy lugged rear tires I got. I just dabbed a little touch-up paint on it and try not to notice it when I drive my truck. Bummer!
