1970 Cab w/title

I've decided to go in a little bit different direction with my project so I've decided to sell this cab and doors. I bought it from HartRod in NM so the cab is in great shape, only very minor rust, mostly surface. I've put new rockers and a new drivers side cab corner on it. I've also shaved the firewall, capped the top and rounded off the passengers side so it's symmetrical and welded over the gas tank hole. It is a high hump cab. It will come with the doors which are in great condition, a no-hole high hump cover, a glove box cover, instument cluster and a steering column. The cab still needs a little bit of body work done there are some minor dents.

The cab comes with a valid title.

I'm not sure what to ask for this. I know what I paid for it and I know what I have in it in parts and hours so I'll start at $1000. This cab already has most of the work done that a lot of folks are planning to do anyway. This would save a lot of time and hassle. Trust me I know!

If anybody wants specific pictures just let me know and I'll get them.

For an extra $150 I'll throw in the sweet cab dolly I built for it and a new set of cab mounts.

Great looking Cab... If I only had the money! If you wanted to sell the dolly separately or just the plans for that cab dolly let me know. I'll be pulling my 70's cab soon and starting some of the same work.

Are you looking for anything as a partial trade?

Re: 1970 Cab w/title

I can't really get rid of the dolly until after the cab is gone. Unfortunately I really didn't make any plans for it either. Just sorta tape measured it and threw it together out of some scrap laying around the garage. I can give you measurements if you want.

Ratrod, I hadn't thought about any trades. I'm really just looking for some cash to put into my 72. What do you have?

Thanks, Some measurements would be great to go with the photos you posted. I printed them already. Looks like you made the dolly thenwelded the cab mounts to it in the proper locations. Very effective and simple system.

Measurements would be great, looks like you used 1" square Tube? Is that correct?

Thomas the dolly is 48x34x15. I used 1.5" tubing because I had some, but I think that 1" would be sufficient. I did just use an old set of cab mounts. You could bolt them on but I had a set I wasn't going to use and the welder was still warm... You can get the wheels cheap at Harbor Freight.

Jim, the cab looks great. This is an awesome deal! The doors and the metal work are worth what he's asking.... Just for perspective, 2 new repo bedside cost a $1000...

Re: 1970 Cab w/title

Answering a couple of PMs publicly...

"Where are the other rust spots, and any pics of them... what shape are the doors in?"

The only appreciable rust on the cab is a very small spot on passenger side kick panel. I don't have a pic handy but of all the work I've done on the cab I chose not to address this spot because it is so minor. I've looked at a lot of trucks in the last year or so and this cab is in better shape than any other I've looked at. The doors are also in great shape. No dents, no rust.

Do you have recent pics of the interior floor, rockers, dash and drip rails.

Re: 1970 Cab w/title

Folks have asked for some more pics so here they are. Again, the only rust whatsoever is some minor pitting on the floor by the passenger kick panel. The drip rails are good, windshield frame is good, rockers are brand new. Anything else you see in the pics is surface only.

I am here in Waco, would you be interested in selling just the doos? I have been looking for a good set with no speaker holes. The place in NM where you bought this cab, ....Do they have other pieces? I could use a good 69' A/C cab also. Thanks

Re: 1970 Cab w/title

I'm sorry but I'm keeping the doors with the cab for now. I bought the cab from HartRod here on the board. I think he has since relocated to another state but I know he was trying to sell a 68. It was a whole truck though. He may know of some other deals out there, he seems to run into them pretty often.

Is there anything else you are looking for? I have a ton of parts. Or you could just come over and help me work on mine
