Thanks menace121978 , The Yellow Truck

A little delayed but work has kept me away from the house until after dark lately . I guess it is a good thing since I will have a little extra money to help pay for this truck . I have intended to post a thank you to Dennis for his help in purchasing the yellow 76 Silverado I picked up . He actually went to look at it for me , took pics and described it to me , picked the truck up for me ,and kept it at his home until the transport arrived to pick it up . I have used members from this board before and it is nice to have a way to meet someone that can put an eye on a vehicle that is many miles away . Makes purchasing one over the internet a lot more comfortable when you can get an unbiased opinion .
Here are a couple pics I took after cleaning it a little . After the pics , my boys wanted to change something so it is wearing Rallys and BFG's now . Pics later of those .

I would also like to thank LiveAnimals (Kameron) for posting the ad in the first place . Thanks for taking the time to pass on the deal you found to the rest of the board . I picked the truck up at a nice enough deal to make it worth the price , even including the cost of shipping .

Right on Frank!! i see the cali plates were the 1st to go She does look better at your house than mine.

i was just happy to help and make everything as smooth as possible. I'm down to go look at a truck for someone anytime!!

Gerald, there are still good people out there that enjoy helping others without looking for anything to gain. and i've met more people like that right here than anywhere else.

Kameron, thanks again for having my back and being down to go with me too. sorry we couldnt wait for the weekend though.

Wait we can't give out rep points anymore. J/K

I'm glad it all worked out Frank. I've talked to Dennis about this, and gave him my gratitude for doing it too. The thing that makes this board such a great place is that there are folks on here that will go out of their way to help out.

I agree with Ken. I'm glad to see another nice 73-87 truck in Franks possession. We know you will do wonders with it Frank. Only question I have is why don't we have any pics of it with the new kicks on it?

Re: Thanks menace121978 , The Yellow Truck

I just pulled these out of storage and we bolted them on . I have some American 200s wheels but I am undecided on what size would look best . I could mount these BF's 255/60 and 275/60)on 15x8.5 and 15x10 Daisies or a set of 235/70 and 255/70 15's on 15x7 and 15x8.5 Daisies . What do you think ? The paint on this truck is good enough to be left alone and ran as a rat rod style or old school so I think the daisys would work .
Here are the BF's on Rallys and I will post a pic of the 200s wheels in case you arent familiar with them .

Re: Thanks menace121978 , The Yellow Truck

those rallys make such a difference, I would keep them on there if it were mine (for a little while anyway ).

EDIT: on second thought...those daisies are pretty sweet!
I think the 235/255 combo would look good the way it sits now, if your gonna lower it the 255/275's would look nice!

funny i was just looking at my truck there and thinking it sure looks like there is supposed to be something there, now I know, I need some fender extensions!! Thanks!

Impulse buy . Buy it quick before you can talk yourself out of it .
Just kidding . I liked the look of it when LiveAnimals posted the link to the CL ad and I got lucky from there . The seller was motivated to sell and Dennis helped seal the deal for me . I could not have found a truck this solid at this price in my area I dont think . The guy wanted $2100 .I talked to him , he came down on the price , I checked shipping , and the deal was done . It needs a tuneup but is a running and driving truck . It looks better in pics but the main thing I wanted was the metal so it worked out . I think it was around 1900 miles and it was only $675 to get it shipped . I could have gotten it done for $625 but I talked to the broker and we put another $50 on the shipping bid so it would get picked up quicker . It was picked up within a couple days and here in 6 days . I am really feeling the tattered vibe on this truck and the color is growing on me fast . Reminds me a little of the Buckskin truck I had that I liked soo much .

Awesome deal. I am sooo jealous.

First thing I though of was "needs wheels."

The rallies are a definite improvement, but lets see some pics with those daisy's on there!

Re: Thanks menace121978 , The Yellow Truck

I think the daisy wheels would look good on there too. I liked the old school look of Frank's (7T7) truck before it began it's transformation. I think he bought his daisy wheels new, so they are period correct. A set of slotted wheels would look good too, but I admit to being a little biased there.

Re: Thanks menace121978 , The Yellow Truck

I think either set of wheels would look good one there. I agree with Joe I would run the rallies on it until I get bored, then throw the Daisy's on there.

I never knew about the fender extensions. Learn something new everyday, and I agree I don't think you would find that same deal in too many places. That is a nice truck, for a heck of a price.

Nice score, Frank! Kudos to the "Gentlemen" on this forum, great story!

Yeah, have to agree, the update to rallies made a big difference right off the bat. I loves me some rally wheels!

What the deal on those fender extensions ? Is that something that is sport bumper specific or should all trucks have them ?
