V8 5 speed
Is there anyway a stock 5 speed would hold up to a v8 swap? I don't own a s10 yet bt I'm interested in doing a small block swap in one.

Re: V8 5 speed
It all depends on how you drive it and what trans you have. I think the small rearend whould give more problems. A stock V8 should be fine.

It's pretty much going to be a toy. Let's just say I'm a 16 year old kid.

Re: V8 5 speed
Well I'm more of a responsible teenager. I don't dump clutches and stuff. I'm pretty easy on my stuff most of the time.

When you have a V8 with a stick in a "light vehicle". doing the responsible thing doesnt always happen. not when i was 16 anyway.

Re: V8 5 speed
Well would a stock 5 speed hold up? Or should I just back the small block with something else?

Re: V8 5 speed
If it's a stock or mild V8, a WC T5 will hold up fine for a long time if it's not abused. And the stock rear will work fine too. If you're building for 300 ft lbs or more you'll need a T56 or the NV*** from a full size truck. And you'll need the S10 8.5 rear or the Explorer 8.8 rear swap.
