Re: new product
That is AWESOME! I have two un-usable hoods that are perfect everywhere except this area I thought I was just going to have to junk. How much is it?

Cool! You'll sell every one you make, is my guess.

Re: new product
It's about time. I can't figure out why no one made one already. The hood fronts are ALWAYS rusted. Good hoods are few and far between (and expensive). I'm sure you'll sell a ton of these.
Thanks for taking care of a real need instead of repopping something everybody else already does. Now, how about a roof with windshield pinch weld and big back window? ***EDITED TO ADD*** I've also heard a lot of complaints about the under hood braces. Once they rust out, the hood gets flimsy. That may be another patch to look into making. Food for thought.

Re: new product
For what it is and the kind of POS you'd create (more-than-likely) trying to fab the same in your garage (excluding Alan, of course), that's a reasonable price.
Mac.

Re: new product
Sorry
I wasn't saying it isn't worth it, I was portraying my sticker shock....didn't mean anything by it.... If you need one, and can't find an OEM piece, this is certainly the way to go

Re: new product
Run the numbers backwards Joe. At $35.00 per hour - could you or anyone you know fabricate that piece in 6.28 hours?

Re: new product
Nice item...I would like to see the recommended installation method of this piece, since it has blind spot-welds on the ends.

You need a blind Welder. I only have one eye left working so I could get it 50% corect Sorry I don't think you will find a recommended installation anywhere. But I guess someone may have some old info. It can be done |

Re: new product
I looked seriously at these...you need a blind welder......OR use panel epoxy adheasive. I think it would make a better repair anyway

Re: new product
I just went through several '62-'66 Chevy truck hoods at my shop, stripping them to shells. I think I will disassemble the nose on one and experiment with this patch panel. I would like to see firsthand how they go together and what the quality, fit and finish is.
