Aftermarket wiring harnesses - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am not in the market yet for one of these, but eventually will. I've always wondered, do some of the harnesses that are vehicle specific have the proper plugs already installed, and is the entire harness available? I've always eyed painless performance's harness for our trucks.

Yes many of the harnesses are identical to the original. You can even order them with HEI and internal regulated alternators. I have an M&H in my Jimmy I believe there is also a couple more makers. I don't think the painless ones have the connectors.

yeah its offered and it has the correct plugs, but expect to pay around 500 bucks but you can buy seperate harnesses also if you dont need the entire truck harness, do your research, I'm doing the same thing

Thanks for all the great info. Judging by the sad shape that my entire harness is in, i think that when I'm ready I will go ahead and spend the extra money for a complete harness terminals and all.

If you prefer plug-n-play, over custom, go with factory replacement harnesses and stay away from Painless, Autowire, E-Z, etc., unless you have the need for the additional capacity and a solid knowledge of automotive wiring.

For the money and time, I prefer the factory-fit reprodution harnesses for ease and simplicity of installation.
