trouble finding replacement stepside fender

Hi - I have an 83 c10 stepside. I have been working on it for awhile and hope to tie up many of the loose ends when it is off the road for the winter. One of the main things I want to replace is the drivers side bed panel and rear fender (it is currently held on with a bungee cord!). I've been looking on craigs list and e-bay, and also parts dealers like brothers, lmc, american classic truck parts, ... No luck. My gas tank filler hole is on the drivers side and every fender I have found has the hole on the passenger side. Not sure why I am having such trouble finding this fender. Any ideas on where to look? Thank you!!!

Re: trouble finding replacement stepside fender

Dual tank models have fuel fillers on both fenders. I believe only 6cyl and 305's had the standard single tank on the left or drivers side, right side, passenger side tank was the auxillary.

Too bad you are far from Texas. I found a complete stepside bed on craigslist. Looks good too.

Re: trouble finding replacement stepside fender

thanks for your help! I will check out those websites. It's difficult knowing what is what on this truck because so many different people have worked on it. The cab and frame are 83', the bed I am not sure of - it has been replaced. It has a rebuilt 350, with 40,000 on the rebuild (not sure how old it is though). I am starting to think my best bet may just be to replace the entire bed, I just don't want to move the gas tank, so finding those fenders is going to be tricky!
