Custom Grilles for '81-up

Could anyone post pictures of their custom grilles/front ends for '81 up trucks, along with the brand?

I'm trying to get some ideas for my truck.

I currently have an '85 Silverado setup, but was thinking about some form of tube grille and an '82 style bumper with driving lights where the factory parking lights went.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I saw this guy at the track when I went 2 years ago and I've been trying to find this grille ever since. Check it out.

he took two 81 or 82 grill and had them plastic welded together if you look you can see the bowtie emblem in the middle that is a gm part and then he recessed his lights

the hard part is trying to find two 81 or 82 grills to make one like that good luck

Hey Lonnie take a look at this thread. There are tons of pics, and just about every grill configuration there is.

I figured that, but it still looks cool to me[for a racetruck]. Do you think he used 2 stock grilles or something? I've been looking for ideas for the grille on my racetruck and I'm torn between that one and a sheetmetal front grille.

It looks like he made the front roll pan out of a spare hood.

Re: Custom Grilles for '81-up

OK I don't have a picture yet, but just ran into a little interesting issue this morning with the Stull tube grille I put on the other weekend.

Had to pop the hood this AM when refueling, decided I wanted to check the oil level. Get around to the front of the truck and go to reach thru the grille to grab the hood release, like I did thru the OE grille, and Ooops, that's not gonna work anymore!?!??!!?

Was able to sneak my fingers under the hood and kind of wiggle the hood latch enough to get it open. Just a little situation that I had not thought about when I bolted that thing on there.

i know this style of grilles have been around forever, wonder how others have made it work for them?

Re: Custom Grilles for '81-up

Thanks guys,

I like the LMC billet & chrome grilles, but they all look great in a catalog.... please give me info about how they hold up & how the fit/finish is.

I would really like the personal feedback & likes/dislikes about the quality of the grilles you own.

Re: Custom Grilles for '81-up

I have the LMC billet grill and it fit well for LMC. The finish is nice also.
