Soft top score from Craigslist

I couldn't believe it when I read the ad, but a few weeks ago a guy in VA had a BestTop for $200! Called & he still had it & said that he used it one year then the motor and trans gave out in his Blazer so he scraped the truck & kept the top thinking he may buy another one someday. Assured me it was in great shape & windows were not hard or discolored...the guy was super nice. But I thought to myself "yeah right, a like-new softtop for only $200?"
Decided what the heck, for that, I'll take a chance & send him the money. A few days later he called me saying he got the check then called back & gave me the shipping tracking #. So his good followups got me excited. Yesterday it came, everything was packaged great with bubble wrap and even between all the windows. All just as he said!!! Everything is there, (but one small bracket that goes on the windshielf frame, which he told me about); he even had the installation instructions.
With the days getting shorter, it's hard to get much done in the evenings after work, but hopefully I'll get it installed in the next few & post some more pics.
With all the scary stories about buying stuff & shipping, it's great to know everybody isn't out to screw you!

Congratulation, that was a good deal. Would it be possible to get a copy of the installation instruction? If it is possible, my address is below.

If you can't make the bracket call Bestop, they still have some odd and end parts laying around.

I think that is the same top I got and I don't know where the window bracket attaches to the windshield frame
I don't have a scanner. I'm at work & instructions are at home, but i think it said it attached in the bottom of the 3 hole that are in the top of windshield frame. I'll be sure to get a pic of all that for you when i get it installed.

Great score!

Just to put it out there, I have some left over parts/pieces from old tops I've tossed over the years, if you find that your missing anything else.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind, but looks like it's all there. Was just the small L bracket that was missing for the windshild frame to door window frame...I can make one of those easily enough.

$70...it was around 42lbs & the box had to be under a certain size; he did a great job packing it up.

Re: Soft top score from Craigslist

Got it installed this weekend. It definetly had to sit in the sun awhile before being able to pull in down to snap. Overall I'm pleased; it'll at least keep the cold wind out when riding this winter.
YES I know it needs washing, but that's the results of the fun part of owning a Blazer

Re: Soft top score from Craigslist

It would also be nice to have a cut list for the pole lengths and bend radii locations.Sometimes a top comes along with no hardware at all ,Maybe evan a paper template of the top itself would be a good thing . Nice grab though .Good luck with it

I see, I am missing those little brackets. Look easy enough to make though.
