Also, what the heck is the deal with the blank gauge on the instrument cluster to the left of the oil pressure gauge? Is something supposed to go there?

You could get a vacuum gauge or air pressure gauge was put in there on the bigger c50 line. Trevor

C/30 and smaller, there was never anything there... only on the C/40 and up.
I find it amusing... and amazing... how many people are so deeply bothered at am empty guage pod.

lol longhornman, I've thought the same thing for a while!

I've know people search high and low for the vacuum gauge just so the dash can be "complete"

Yeah, and I could never justify LMC's $149 vacuum gauge kit. A decent vacuum gauge can be had for less than $20!! But of course it doesn't match the other gauges, etc etc...

The stock tach doesn't match, nor do they work very well, nor do they even rev to the stock engine's redline... but people pay hundreds for them.
I just don't get it.

Yeah, the stock tach in my truck was reading 3700 RPM at 60 MPH!! I was driving down the highway like an old man, thinking I had the lowest gears in truck history!!! Then I hooked up a second tach and it was reading 2900 RPM!!! Just a wee bit of difference!! So then I started driving like a bat out of hell! Maybe I should have left the bad one in there!

Years and years of therapy and I was finally getting over that blank gauge sitting there, staring, mocking me with that blank stare! Now you're making fun of us with empty guage syndrome. THAT IS DISCRIMINATION DAMMIT, where is the outrage. And now I find out my Tach is probably junk also? Looks like i'm putting another one of the therapists kids through college!

I just put a new gauge in that exact place. It reads Dilithium Chrystal Flux Density.
