Wheel codes
Is there a site for wheel codes. I found some numbers on some 15 x 8 Kelsey wheels that are stamped into the metal. The codes are:
JJ K 1 3 (date code) and also, 15" x 8" There is an original sticker on the wheel and I am attaching a pic. Any comments? Jim |

i dont know much about old wheels and stuff, but me and my dad bought a 66 dodge and it had 17.5 inch rims all rusty 8 lugs, i put them for sale on a dodge board and the guy told me to check the code and it was like 73442 and BUDD and they where sold in less than a week for 50 bucks, kinda makes me wonder if i shoulda held on to them? the guy paid almost 90 bucks with shipping and all.

I am curious about the wheels and not wishing to sell them as they are already promised to a fellow board member. The wheels are off of a 70 4x4 and my son is the third owner of the truck. We had assumed that these were original wheels but if that is a date
code, (K 1 3) then they are of 73 vintage. They will clear disc brakes, but I am not sure if the 70's wheels would clear or not. It is unusual to find a sticker inside of a wheel, so I was just trying to find out more about the wheels. Jim |
