I Think I Figured The Color Out.

Hey guys. I think I finally figured out what color my truck actually is. I think it's GM Flame Red. I realized this after reading an article about the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. They said that many Lee's were painted this color and I am a DoH fan and I believe it. It is a color that is more orange than red like my truck is. Do you guys think I'm correct in my assumption?

Thanks
Benjamin.

Re: I Think I Figured The Color Out.

It looks lighter in that pic because of the time of day. It was taken late this past spring. The second pic was taken right after I got my exhaust fixed a little over a year ago. It looks much better without the topper. It screamed, "Get your corn dogs. Get your corn dogs here."

Re: I Think I Figured The Color Out.

Flame red was a 1975 Corvette color, and yes more orange than most reds. If I recall it was a one year only color, at least on Corvette. You might find a chip for it at a paint store and be sure.

Re: I Think I Figured The Color Out.

I helped a buddy of mine with his General Lee build. As soon as the car was finished, he moved to S.C. to finish school. The car stays here until he buys a home after college. So I have the liberty of taking care of his car. When building the car (a 9 year project) he made sure to make it as correct as possible. Including the 1975 Corvette Flame Red Paint. The color looks diferent in different lighting, sometimes looking super orange, sometimes more red. Here is a short walkaround vid (thats my truck in my garage)

It may very well be Cardinal red. One of my trucks is this color and your truck looks to be a match to mine.
