Wow! What a difference!

I finally opened the wallet wide enough to get some new cab mounts & a nice big swaybar on my '70 C-10.

It feels like I just went from "The Family Truckster" to a Porsche 928.

Not only is it much tighter & has much less bounce, my right wheel no longer rubs the inner fender going over one of the many dips near my house.

Well worth the $$$!

Seriously, dude? You just compared your truck to a Porsche 928?? One of the WORST cars ever to roll off a Porsche assembly line, except for possibly the 924... At least compare it to a GOOD sports car, like a Subaru SVX!!! HAHA

Re: Wow! What a difference!

It is amazing the improvements one will get with new bushings ... I too will find out in a few weeks how much an improvement new bushings will make.

Well, I figured it was a huge performance improvement, but still no where near the 911's handling. I thought would be an anology too far...

All good, just have to give people cr*p whenever possible. Glad the ride has improved.

Re: Wow! What a difference!

Where did you get the sway bar? Is it new or oem? What size?

Re: Wow! What a difference!

OEM 1 1/8" sway bar w/ blue polyurethane bushings. I forget the brand... MOOG perhaps? blue & yellow box.

If your truck never had a sway bar, you'll have to cut 2 frame rivets out. I raided the neighbors shed for the grade 8 hardware.

Re: Wow! What a difference!

I assume you got the bar from a 73-87 truck. I plan to do this, too. Just scored a new Energy Suspension bushing and bracket kit for $10 for the 1 1/8 bar. Now, just need to find a sway bar.

If I'm not mistaken, it was from a 67-72, along with all the relevant brackets.

Re: Wow! What a difference!

I've got a 06 Subie Legacy and it handles better than a 928.
