What Are These From?

Are these hubcaps from 67-72 trucks or 73-87 trucks. I want to put them on the parts sale board but am not sure which board to put them on.

Re: What Are These From?

I've never seen those on a 73-87. 99% sure those are for the 67-72. I think there is a bagged otherwise stock truck in those years that has them.

Re: What Are These From?

Thanks. They came off a 69 parts truck at the wreckers but I do not remember seeing them on 67-72's. Anyone else know?

Re: What Are These From?

They were used on post-72 pickups for a few years in the 70's as well. With chevy's it's easy to tell, the blue bowties are 69-72, the yellow are 73-up. With GMC's there may be no differences at all, though I don't know for sure.

Was the 69 parts truck a GMC and were full wheel covers listed on the SPID? If so, I'd advertise them as correct for 69-72.

If you ever run across a nice set of 67/68 Chrome 1/2 ton dogdish caps let me know.

Re: What Are These From?

Unfortunately I could only find Jimmy brochures and the pics show the hubcaps but only the front with lockouts exposed in detail.

Re: What Are These From?

You got me interested so I just went to 73-87.com and clicked on Road Test Articles, 73-80. There is an article called 1973 Chevrolet C10 in Auto Restorer. It seems to have those hubcaps.

Re: What Are These From?

I would say they are correct for 69-72 as well. I have a set on my 72. I would advertise those in the 67-72 parts section because it gets far more traffic than the others.

Re: What Are These From?

Thanks for all the help. I'll post them on the 67/72 board and hope someone can use them. I'll be posting some 70's Blazer/Jimmy ( I think) buckets as well.

Re: What Are These From?

Interesting article on the 73, but I would say this era had "all" the car comforts, not "some" of the car comforts. This hubcap design was used up to 1976 as an accessory item.

Those appear to be exactly like the ones I pulled of my '76 Jimmy & have out in my storage shed (someplace).

I was in Town for a couple of days for a conference. I really didn't need much but I bought a whole steering column for $5 as I needed the steering Indicator. I also bought the Bench that was in the back of the blue truck under the topper. It was in really great shape and he only wanted $20.

Sure could use that Blue longbox for that price as well but no way get it home right now. Mine is fine but that was darn near perfect. That trim was cheap to but don't need it.

He told me what he sold the buckets for and I just scratched my head...

I really just wanted the console for the 72 Burb I recently bought but he wanted to sell buckets and console together so I bought then both. The biggest problem with selling the seats is the cost of shipping them. Someone in Georgia said he'd take them 2 minutes after I posted them for sale. I sent him a PM yesterday but haven't heard back yet.

They are on my 72, I'm pretty sure they were original equipment since I got it from the original owner.

Thanks for the pic and info. If you bought that truck from the original owner and he never changed anything those caps are original equipment. Considering that there is an advertising poster ( on this thread ) for a 1973 truck with the hubcaps on as well I am figuring they were a 1972 truck option but GM didn't use them all up so they put them on the 73's untill they were gone.

Re: What Are These From?

Those were optional on trucks from 69-74(maybe 76 like earlier posted) for sure. They are listed as full wheel covers on a spid sheet.
