Junkyard score

The weather here was beautiful this week and dirtball and I both managed to not work full days on Friday so we went junkyarding. He scored this 454 at a yard for $150 plus a $50 core charge. Intake to pan with waterpump, pulleys, and all brackets including AC, and HEI.
It took us two hours to pull it which wasn't bad considering we had a bag of very basic hand tools with us, and only one ratchet! We thought about taking the TH400 connected to it, they only wanted $103 plus a $30 core for it.

This yard has flat rate pricing, a V8 is a V8 to them, so a 307 or a 454 are both $150.

Time to find a home for this one!

Re: Junkyard score

It was a fun day. Started off as an innocent cruise to the pick-n-pull, ended up gettin greasy for a big block. Now just need to find a 70ish Nova to park it in.

How 'bout a 70ish C-10 to park it in? It would sure scare the poop out of the Ricers! You might even teach a few Camaro's and Mustangs a lesson.
