What is Recomended for cleaning out Engine?

i got my engine finally put back together, and when i went to start it up, it fired right up

buuuuut.....i made a custom set of valve covers for easier valve adjusting, and within a few seconds of the engine running, i spotted some milky residue coming up on the rocker arms....

i got a few opinions and everyone said that it is just the oil pump picking up the milky residue at the bottom of the pan. that would make sense....

I NEED to know if there is any way of clearing all that crap out? like an additive or something?

thanks

Does the oil on the dipstick look milky/watery or like a nasty milkshake ? You may have a water leak from the head gasket or the intake manifold into the engine.

the dip stick is clear. the milky residue that came up on the rocker arms wasn't very thick at all, i would say mostly oil

Re: What is Recomended for cleaning out Engine?

My engine had this problem and I dropped the pan and cleaned it out and while the pan was off I sprayed the rotating assembley with brake cleaner.

that will be the easiest and safest thing to do it might take a lil under 30 min to drop the pan and like that your sure whats sitting at the bottom of it.

isn't it going to be tough with the cross member in the way? and what would be the best way to hold the gasket in place?

If its just a little bit and the oil as a whole isn't milky looking , just drive it for a few days then change the oil. no need to drop the pan. Getting the oil up to operating temp will burn off any little bit of water in the oil.
