78 brakes

im installing my 3" spindles today and took off the cailpers i noticed while building my truck i didnt have any brake besides the rear which needed to be adjusted so i thought i would step on the pedal with just the front hose coming from the lines and not attached to the calipers and NO brake fuild comes out !! i have fuild to the rear but not the front i also removed the hydroboost from the truck and installed a 1984 booster and master i had some one step on the pedal while i cracked the lines to bleed the master a few times !!!
oh i should add that when i brought the truck it didnt have the engine in it and the brakes didnt work !!! i dont know if its the proposioning block in the front??????
is there something to check im sure if i stood on the brake pedal fuild should flow out!!!!!!

The line or prop. valve could be pugged up. You could just have a bad brake hose too.

dont trust those brake hoses, i fought with front brakes, even bought a proportioning valve, when all i needed was a damn hose

but both hoses???? everything is tight in that area i can get to it but i wish i sorted it out before installing my gen3 im gonna try taking the line off at the proportioning valve and see if it flows !!
also i need to bleed the master again it ran dry what would the best way to bleed the air out!!

If you have been pumping the pedal with the hose off you have air in the lines.
Start over.
Make sure all hoses and lines are clear. Front hoses could be collapsed.
Now's a good time to replace them anyway.
Reconnect all lines.
Bench bleed the master cylinder.
"Pump up" the pedal and then crack the caliper bleeder, while someone has their foot on the pedal.
It may take many tries to get the air out.
Any time you release the pedal with the system open,... you will draw air back into the system.

My guess is you need to bench bleed your master cylinder. Until you do, I'll venture that your not going to get fluid flowing.

I trick a I learned a long time ago is use a piece of vacuum hose on your bleeder. First loosen it a bit, then put your wrench on, followed by a piece of hose. Run the hose to a full bottle of fluid and submerge the end. Have a helper pump and hold while you open the bleeder. Close and repeat.

This prevents fluid from going everywhere, and eliminates the possibility that air will be sucked back in the system.

so what happen to the porp valve? how does it shut of fuild ? can it be reset?

ok i bench bleed the M/C i still have no fuild to either side of the calipers im stumped?????
oh by the way ive always bleed the brakes on anything ive owned by pumping the pedal , then holding the pedal ,cracking the line and pushing the pedal to the floor then tightening rhe bleeder and do it all again a few times
