Strange issue
It seems that when I make a sharp left turn or change lanes quickly that I lose power, like it's outta gas or something.... don't think it is electrical but I could be wrong..... running an edelbrock 600..... any ideas?

Re: Strange issue
Check trans fluid level, that happens to me when the fluid is low. Really weird but true. Also, make sure the trans filter is still in there correctly. On my TH400, it came loose and may have contributed to the power loss issues I was having.

Re: Strange issue
I was thinking something with the carb.... don't remember it doing this before I installed the edelbrock...... haven't done much work on carbs other than installing or removing them.......... have adjusted the f/a mixture, that's about it....

Re: Strange issue
Gotta be a carb issue cause mine started doin the same thing after I installed an Edelbrock 1405. Maybe the carb gurus can enlighten us as to why our Edelbrocks dont like goin left!!
I rebuilt mine prior to install and spent a lot of time making sure I had the floats set properly, so that wouldn't be my first thought, but it does seem a likely culprit. |

Re: Strange issue
Sounds to me like your float bowl level is too low and the engine is starving out on left turns.

Re: Strange issue
Made a landfill run today, so paid particular attention to this issue. Seems to happen only in light throttle conditions. If I idle into a left turn it all but dies, but if I'm into the throttle a third or half it runs fine. So whatever it is seems to only be affecting my idle circuit. Roger, you stated that lane changes affected yours, not so in my case.

Re: Strange issue
it was a "hard" lane change though, If you drive around DFW, you know what I mean The only time it has done that "changing lanes" on the way home before I posted this.... it almost died altogether.....
