Need help w/backing plates
Need some help fellow enthusiasts...
I have a '68 C10 SWB (disc front/rear drum) that I am putting a '71 rear axle into to get the 5 lug pattern. Problem is the '71 rear has rusted out backing plates and I am having a !@%$&*# hard time finding ANYONE that sells repro ones. Tried the usual supects; Classic, Ecklers, LMC, POL etc. No luck.....aghhh. Any idea if the '68 plates will interchange? I haven't got the '68 rear end here so I can't tell (those backing plates are like new). Seems as if they would fit knowing Chevy...but maybe not. I know the dealership might be able to provide...just don't want to get "bent over the stump". I am trying local wrecking yards also...no luck so far. Any help/suggestions would be very appreciated. Thanks. Tom

Re: Need help w/backing plates
If the 68 is a 12 bolt differential, the backing plates should interchange.
