5.3 guys I need a little help!
What all is involved in taking the plastic intake off of a 2000 5.3. I have never worked on one of these engines. I am having to replace the camshaft sensor & the guys cousin broke it. So the only way I can see to get to it is to remove the plastic plenum/intake. I'm just wandering what I am about to get into.

Re: 5.3 guys I need a little help!
disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail, unplug the injectors (or move the fuel rail out of the way)
disconnect the TB remove about 8 - 10 bolts. There is no water in the intake. I thought the camshaft position sensor was on the back of the block, and accessible without taking the manifold off (oh.....I guess if it's on an engine stand) GL |

It's pretty straightforward as Ack says. The "dry" system the LS motors are built on make it pretty simple and "clean".

Re: 5.3 guys I need a little help!
Thanks guys! It was real simple to work on. I was just a little nervous because it was something new.
