Repoped Stainless window trim quality
Is the repoped stainless window trim worth buying or should I find nice originals to polish up?
Thanks, Jay |

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
I am not positive that the repops are actually stainless...I think they are just chrome? (I may be wrong though)
I used one of the repops for my back glass and it looks pretty nice...and fit quite well.....I was surprised!..... I polished an original SS set for the front glass and it came out nice too.....The front & rear does not match each other though! RM

Looks great, fits like crap. Find some originals, plenty out there if you look

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
Exactly the info I was looking for. My front polished up nice, but the rear has a couple bad spots(on each piece). I only want to install these seals once.
Thanks guys! |

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
The ones we sell are stainless steel. Don't have any problem with them fitting

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
Front top piece curvature is wrong on the deep molding. Held the rubber seal off the cab. All the other pieces can be tweaked to work

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
The back glass is flat,so repro should work fine.

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
I used it on my 71 and had no trouble, also am going to use it on my 72 and don't forsee any problems. I agree if you can find nice original pieces get them but every set that I looked at were dinged or scratched beyond my intended use. Harold

Re: Repoped Stainless window trim quality
I have some original stainless trim for front and back I just took off a parts truck. It's in pretty decent shape. I made a ever so slight ding on the front taking it off. Make me an offer for front and back........
The rear has a couple minor dings towards the bottom but all in all it's very workable. I'd say they're in great condition for a 40 year old truck! PM me or email me at matt-lisa@windstream.net |
