my 66 started throwing up today!! help

well I have started to work on the engine in my 66. Its a sbc 350 that has not been started in like 6mths. Well I put on a new carb Edelbrock endurashine 650 4brl and a new battery. Well tried to turn it over and nothing, just tried to turn over. Well I killed the battery, charged it over night and started again today. I pulled out plugs to put wd40 in and turn it over without the plugs in to lube up the cylinders, here were it got scary for me. When I turn it over without the plugs cylinder 6 and 8 are spewing out gas! I mean alot of gas! Whats the deal? Why is it doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have a float stuck (down) with the needle/seat open in the carb.

Take the carb off and shake it vigorously. That will likely dislodge the float. When you turn the carb slowly upside down then right side up you should hear the float clank around inside the carb if you listen close.

Page 14 of the attached link explains how to adjust the floats. I picked the 1400/1403 series, not sure exactly which one you have. If it's the wrong version just go back to the home page and click on the Tech Support link.
