Re: what model front clip?

It wasn't just the grill.

It could be the front clip. The cab may have been put on another frame.

Does it have disc brakes?

Re: what model front clip?

I have not checked the breaks. Just looked at it yesterday a friend told me about it. It has very little rust and most of the body work is done. He is asking 500. I thought it sounded good. Even if I use some of the parts for my truck.

Re: what model front clip?

67/68 used a large horizontal handle to pull emergency brake, while 69/72 used a floor pedal. That may give you a clue of the cab has been changed.

The Master cylinder looks like it goes with a disk brake setup. Normally the drum/drum has the same size for both fluid reservoirs.

What does the frame VIN say?

Re: what model front clip?

whats the VIN?
Has the VIN tag been tampered with?
what does the title say (assuming you are getting one since it is not required there)
does the VIN on the frame match the cab?

If you posted some pics of the inside of the cab we could tell you pretty quick if the cab is a 68 or a 72, a photo of the VIN plate would tell a whole lot.

Re: what model front clip?

From the pictures it is a later model (69-72) cab.

With all the other indicators, I'd say it is a 72 with a 68 front clip.
The double CC starting the VIn tells me (as does the rest) that it is a 72 VIN#

Re: what model front clip?

Based on the VIN, you have a 72 cab.

Cool Re: what model front clip?

Seem's a bit of a mystery to me. The steering shaft is 69-72. The e-brake pedal is 69-72, but the dash looks 67-68. I'm not sure, but I don't think 67-68 had power brake. If you buy it and tear it apart, another clue is the core support mounting holes (the bracket attached to frame) the 67-68 had a small hole for the rubber mount and the 69-72 a larger hole 1.14" vs. 1.67". This will at least tell you what year frame you have. Good luck !

Re: what model front clip?

there should be a vin on the frame on the drivers side ahead of the cab i believe. the dash looks like 69-72(just 2 holes compared to a possible 4). I would lean towards a pieced together pickup, but check the vin on the frame(it'll tell you if it matches the cab).

Re: what model front clip?

it looks like it may have a truck tilt. That, if its in good shape could fetch 300. You can also look under the seat at the flat middle section of the floor( under the seat). If it has some stamps in it and its not flat there, its 67 or 68 cab.Looks like 67-71 doors, 68 clip, 72 cab poss. Check the vin tag . Is it put on with regular rivets or flower shaped ones?

Re: what model front clip?

looks like a 72 cab swap, but at that price I wouldn't hesitate to buy, deffinently $500 worth of parts there.

Re: what model front clip?

Cab been drilled for a rear view mirror, or does it look like it was attached to the windsheild? My vote is a reclipped 72 model. Still I would buy it just for the parts.

like BigMike said, the doors are not 72's, (no screw below vent windows), but the door panels sitting on the floor are 72's. Only year with those plastic formed units.

Re: what model front clip?

Look at the support brackets for the booster, that's 71-72 only. Must be a 71-72 cab with 68 front clip.
