Re: Tire size?
The standard tire was 8.75-16.5. Most common optional sizes were 9.50-16.5 and 7.50-16. The 16.5 wheel was a 1 piece , the 16 wheel was a 2 piece on 72 3/4 tons. 29" about right for 9.50-16.5 and around 30" for 7.50-16.

Re: Tire size?
Can't speak to the 16.5" stuff, but this info on the 16s is accurate based on what came on my '72 K20 -- other than I believe typical 7.50-16s were closer to 31.5" tall. The old 8PR Armstrong Norsemans I bought were listed as 32.3".

Re: Tire size?
My 72 Custom Camper came with 16's too, which I'm thinking was an option. Original customer ordered it that way. It's on the SPID.
(slight thread hijack) Question for you tire guys--- What's the closest modern radial tire size to a 7.50-16? And how much wider of a tire can I crowd onto my stock rims without getting into trouble?

265/75-16 is same height and will go on a 7" - 8" rim, or a 275/70-16. I probably would not go any larger on a stock wheel.
