67-72 k10 frame id questions
I have a line on a '72 k10 roller. I have no knowledge of the k10's
I have only messed with c 10's, but miss my k5 4x4 so this could get me back in the 4wd game. Are there any telltell sign or anything I should be looking for to verify 67-72? Thanks for any input / suggestions. I'll pull up Mike project money pit and get a refresher on what his frame looks like just didn't want to overlook anything.

Re: 67-72 k10 frame id questions
That`s a good one to come across.
The rear shocks aren`t staggered from front to back like`73-up.If the bumper`s off the front you can tell by the frame horn shape, which is just like 2wds on the end.The later rames are a bit longer in front and the horns would need cut to mount the 67/72 bumper to look normal. The core support mounts on the frame would need moved on a newer frame or the core support bolts will be relocated through the frame.

Re: 67-72 k10 frame id questions
The 72 should have a d44 disc front rear, the frame should a extra plat welded on the inside where the steering box bolts to the frame, the driver side front frame spring mount will have a plate welded across the front( I know the balzer frames do I am not 100% sure on the k10)There are alot of small changes between 67 to 72.

Re: 67-72 k10 frame id questions
The trucks had the plate across the front of the driver`s spring perch and bolted on stop behind, also.

Re: 67-72 k10 frame id questions
Also the 67-72 front spring shackle mount bolts into the flange and face of the frame, as the 73-87's only bolt in the face of the frame.

Cool... you didn't mention it was a shortbox! Nice bones to start with- just swap in a newer disc brake front axle and get started!

Re: 67-72 k10 frame id questions
nice find... I know the brake lines in the rea changed over the years, and you will want to keep an eye out for a disk brake front axle, it will bolt right into that frame. Just be sure to match the gear ratio of the rear axle...
Looks like it already has a 4" lift so you can run 33x12.5's pretty easily..

Re: 67-72 k10 frame id questions
the axle shafts? easy... There are a lot of DANA 44 rebuild pages on the net... everything slides in and is held by the spindle... just get the bearings right!
