Just thought I would show my crew cab build

Here is the begining stages of the crew cab build I will post some more as I get some time. I shaved all the emblems, body seems, cab lights, did some custom touches to the interior, and made it into a single wheel no longer a dually. Soon to be cummins powered cant wait for it to be done I will keep you all posted.

Heres some more on the crew cab build. Here you can see me shaving all the seems welding in the holes in the roof from cab lights, preping the cab for primer, and paint.

Re: Just thought I would show my crew cab build

rubberized sound deadener. I would greatly recommend using sound deadener another ebay purchase. You may notice the white face gauges back lit with blue leds those are an overlay kit from ebay also only like thirty dollars and worth every penny.

Re: Just thought I would show my crew cab build

very cool project. How was the install of the "fat mat" insulation? I ask because I just removed my sagging headliner board from my '85 Suburban and have been thinking of using that stuff as a headliner for a while. Any input?

the fat mat was easy to install and sticks great I would use it. I just started my cummins up in the truck and it is just as quiet as a new truck.

Any reason you are using a vacuum brake booster, rather than hydroboost?

I used the front crossmember out of the dodge I got the engine from. and I used some 2x6" 1/8" wall tubbing and plated the outside of the frame so I could cut some of the c channel away on the topside. probably wouldn't have to do this if it didn't have A/C.

Very nice truck! This truck was dang nice before the resto! Nice job on the cummins swap as well. Do you plan on running an intercooler on it?

Yeah I plan on running an intercooler I have been measuring a few of them and have heard that the second gen dodge one works good. do you have any input on that?

Re: Just thought I would show my crew cab build

Yes it does. In fact I put one in my little brother's 1984 chevy. Let me find you a link for a few pics.

The pics of the intercooler are near the bottom of the thread on the first page. If you need measurements or more pics, let me know. The truck is still at the body shop and I can get more pics because the intercooler is out of the support.
