Re: aftermarket tach
This is mine. Big ol hose clamp to keep it on. This was just like one I had when I was in high school. It is centered over the original location.

Re: aftermarket tach
I looked everywhere to find a aftermarket tach that I could place in the factory bezel. I ended up installing the LMC aftermarket factory replacement. It seemed to be the least trouble to install

Re: aftermarket tach
i would do the factory replacement like that, but im going to be running a ls engine and the factory tachs only go to 5 grand, and a ls engine dont even get good and turned on until 6 grand lol..(my shift point is going to be aroun 6800-7000 rpm)... robbie

Re: aftermarket tach
I took an aftermarket tach apart and stuck it in my dash like the factory did.
I saw this very tach on the shelf at Mill's Fleet Farm last week for $43. When I bought mine it was around $25 or $30 at Checkers.

Re: aftermarket tach
Mine is mounted to the column using a hose clamp:
However, I put heat shrink tubing over the clamp so it is so obvious that it is a clamp:

Re: aftermarket tach
I dig that period Stewart Warner. Good idea on the heat shrink too.
