looking for a cam kit
Im looking for a mild cam kit for a 350. Correct me if im wrong but i've heard of of cam kits including everything from cam, lifters, and valve springs. Has anyone ever heard of such as this?
I'm looking for a mild cam, but something that will still give me a lopey idle. If anyone can give me some spec's to go by that would be great. Thanks alot. |

Re: looking for a cam kit
don't know much about cam kits , but I will say that to get a lopey idle you have to get your duration up around 230 degrees & up.
Ihave a 224 intake & 230 exhaust duration & have a choppy idle , not a very lopey one . Put a cam in your engine just to get a good lope & yoyu better have the heads --displacement etc. to match itg or you will be sacrificing performance for the sound . I' m like most of you here > there 's nothing like the sound of a lopey engine . |

Re: looking for a cam kit
Call Comp Cams cam help line and tell them what you want and they will ask you a ton of questions to get you a cam grind that is right for what you want and how your truck it put together.
Every decent cam manufacturer will have a list of suggested parts that need to go with their cams with options for upgraded parts. Comp has a great web site for seeing all of this.
