8-lug stock wheel size
My '79 K20 Camper Special has 16.5" wheels. We went over all the issues finding tires for these things on the 4x4 board, so I don't really want to rehash that. The 16.5's are going bye-bye. I want to put some BFG K/O's on my truck, but the size I want says it needs a rim 7-8 inches wide. How wide are the stock 16" steel wheels? I was rooting around at the junkyard today, and they don't seem to be that wide, but I could never find one without a tire to measure. I'm one of those freaks who thinks my truck looks good with the stock hubcaps, so I would prefer to go that route. I did see some 8-lug wagon wheels that might be wide enough, but that's not the look I want, plus I could only find three. Any ideas?

Re: 8-lug stock wheel size
Don't think a wide 16" wheel was ever made. Usually they are 6" or maybe 6.5". Late 80s early 90s Fords had a 7" wheel, that is the widest I can think of in steel.

Re: 8-lug stock wheel size
I have a set of H2s that I ran on my truck. 6" lift with 37s (measure 35") they tuck in a lot, bout 2" in front and don't think any in the rear. I never wheeled it like that, the tires are at the wear bars.
