Brakes on 72 fleet shortbox

My truck is equipped with manual disc brakes . To add power brakes for when my wife drives it can I just remove a booster and master cylinder from another 72 and swap out or is more required ? I know I ask alot of questions but this is my first time playing with these trucks .Thanks all.

Re: Brakes on 72 fleet shortbox

I am sure others know more then I, but I believe you just need a power booster. I added power to a 4 whl drum 68 and it was pretty easy. I unbolted the master, pulled out from the wall with lines attached, detached the brake push rod on pedal & removed, bolted up the new power boster, attached the push rod to the pedal, and bolted up the master to the new booster. There was enough play in the lines for me to do this without draining the system.

I added power brakes to my 72 All I needed was the Booster the brake push rod and the mounting brakets to mount the booster to the fire wall. Most people forget about the brake push rod it is needed because it is different than non power.

Depending on the length of the brake lines you may need to replace those also. WES
