How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
For those of you who have completed your finished ride height on your S-10 conversion can you please post some pics of your trucks at ride height? If you can also include any chassis mods, rim & tire sizes, and the height the body sits from the frame it would be greatly appreciated.

1952ssr, Did I read that correctly 4" +/- 1/2" off the frame? Thanks for sharing.

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
I didn't get to the shop last night, was shopping for last minute gifts. Within the next few days off I'll get some pictures and measurements. I'll get back with everyone next week, I don't have the net at home.

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
Heres mine. Nothing fancy done to it. It's stock ride hight for the s10. I think the back of the front fender is about 6" off the ground.

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
Well got in 10 hours of work on the '51 Saturday. Here are some pictures to get a better idea where my cab sits. About 5-5 1/2 inches off between frame and floor pan in the battery mounting hole. Notice in the second, hard to see it but there is a 3/4 piece of square tubing between the top body mount cup and original cab channel. Those brackets were made using the left over frame cut from the back and a s10 body mount bracket.

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
Not a great pic and wheels have changed but:
Stock S10 suspension with 3" blocks in the rear. 2" spacers all the way around, S10 4x4 rear end. Body sits about 5" off the frame (4" blocks and 1" stock S10 body mount). Rear cab mounts are stock '54 shackle mounts. 327/NV3500 5 speed. About 8-9" to the running board bottom. Last edited by Dan Bowles; 12-30-2009 at 04:14 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
FiftyTwo, Nice! Your truck is awesome looking. I was going to do the same thing with my gas filler neck also, but I didn't want to chance screwing up my bed side so I didn't. Instead I put a wood box in the back of the bed. Check it out in post number 16.
LEEVON, you don't want one of these truck. J/K I think that we should try to save them all.

Fiftytwo, do you by chance know how many inches it is lowered in the front and rear? The truck looks amazing thanks for sharing.

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
I believe an S10 Xtreme's suspension is approxmately 1.5" to 2.0" lower than a stock S10.

Re: How about some pics of your S10 conversion @ ride height
I think my friend said it has a bigger sway bar and a 1.5in drop spring on the front. Or at least his extreme blazer did.
