Shannon - the build
I got her from an old school friend that was just in love with the truck. His long time on and off girlfriend finally said it was over for good - he got all butt hurt and I got my little girlie for $1500
Sitting in Wyotech street rod getting ready to start a transformation too late now Always make sure you LOOK BEHIND you when you're backing up And make sure your tire chains are TIGHT (previous owner syndrome) All better

And time for some rattle can color
some stripe The only pic I have of her as she sits right now. 1 coil cut out in the front and 2 inch spacers in the back (plus wore out shocks and a full load on the trailer)

Re: Shannon - the build
The truck the rat came out of, and what I did to get the rat. I now has a cummins, a 5 speed and a gearvendor. It was only supposed to be into primer, but what the hell, It was my first complete and he was SUPER happy with it
PLEASE be careful when putting window regulators back in and that was RIGHT after I started to buff that door too

Re: Shannon - the build
I haven't had much of any time to work on my truck but I am lining out a lot of things I need for it. Taking on side jobs in return for parts isn't too bad, but I'm slowly finding out that its a lot of time I could be spending time on my projects.
I've been doing a little body work on a camero/caddie (and soon a 85 chevy c-10 stepside) in trade for some little nick nacks, a BUILT turbo 350 for my pontiac, a fresh built 388 for my own drag car The perk of it all is - since being built I'm basically the only one that fits in the car comfortably, that means I might get to run it this year I've also been helping build the shop in return I get to basically call it home and my soon to be paint booth

Re: Shannon - the build
Really I can't say that I haven't done anything to my truck - just not Shannon. I picked up a 76 Dodge W-100 from a guy at another shop for $150. He was telling me that it was parked about 12 years ago and his son was going to paint it, so he started taking it apart. I was told 20K miles before it was parked the motor was rebuilt, and he had *just* got done rebuilding the carb
but I can't complain for $150. It didn't take much to get it running; just replacing basically every rubber hose on it, a water pump and flush the cooling system and a real carb (screw thermo quads). Now its just time to fix the wiring and get the dash/heater back together. I am into it right around $500 and I'm not putting more work into it than I have to. With out warning - here is Otis; The Fu*k'em up Truck

Re: Shannon - the build
I haven't really done anything to my chevy since the last post, I have been trying to get caught up on all my side jobs and working on my Dodge. The only thing I have done is tried to find rubber for my truck so I can take my studs off. It is next to impossible to find wide (10 inch rim) rubber to fit a 15 inch rim. Last year you could throw a rock and hit a 275/60/15. this year finding anything in a 15 inch rim is next to impossible. I had to bite the bullet and go up to a 31/10.5/15. It doesn't have the same look, but I'm not big on 18's or 20's. After running my rims through winter the de-icer that "Isn't corrosive" and the cheap chrome started to rust I said screw it and painted them all pretty
Now all I am doing is waiting for my front two rims

Re: Shannon - the build
I started off the day as a usual Saturday, breakfast with the crew, then headed off to work to putter around on side jobs. Around lunch time I decided that I was basically done with what I had materials to do so I hopped in the truck and was heading out to a friends house to pick up some distributor parts for the chevy. About 3/4 the there I start to hear a funny noise coming from the engine bay. Started out as a tick, then moved into a knock, and then a nice, distinctive CLACK. I nursed it the rest of the way to his house, pulled it in the shop and set the valves. didn't do a damn bit of good, so we drank a couple of beers, ate some food and discussed my next options. One way or another the head needs to come off. The major problem with that is is that Shannon is my DD, I'm scrimping and saving as it is to get a rebuild kit for the D50, I have the small block that came out of Shannon to rebuild, a full size Dodge I'm working on and so many other projects I can't find a stick big enough to shake at them.
I guess she will just get parked for now and hope to God nothing else goes wrong with anything
