Confused

Installed 2" drop shackles on my 92 GMC tonight and now the truck does not sit level side to side, appros 5/8" difference. Took the truck out and drove it thinking the suspension needed to seat, nothing. All of the bolts were tightened with weight on the truck. Both side were installed in the same hole...HELP! I was going to post pictures but they were blurry.

Re: Confused

Not uncommon at all. Did you measure it before you added the shackles? I'll guess that it was uneven before but you never noticed it.

GM has had this issue for years. Some say it's due to compensation gas tank location and weight. I can't verify that, but the GM lean is for real.

My 06 SWB CC was so bad that I had to put the shackles in different holes to square it up. It was lowered 1" on one side and 2" on the other...

Re: Confused

I know the feeling. I couldn't stand it being crooked so that was our solution.

I just swapped the shackles over to my 09 GMC SWB CC and now it sits a little low in the rear. I'm going to have to raise it back up a notch.

Re: Confused

Are the shackles hitting anything? I was suppose to cut the bed on my '89 that I did.

Re: Confused

2nd the bed thing. and i'll suggest filling the gas tank up completely and then measure. same issue with s10s, the gas tank to one side is alot of extra weight

Re: Confused

I will recheck to see if it is hitting anything. If I fill the gas tank it will be worse, thats the side that is low
