Making seat brackets/mounts

I got some seats from an '05 GTO and want to put them in my '70 K10. I have the seat rails from the GTO, the seat is all electric but I'm not sure about how to approach making some brackets to raise the seat. Should I just pick-up some square piping and make a box that will sit between the floor and the seats? How would I make sure the seat is squared in the cab also?

Edit- I also have a bench seat currently and going to be putting my tank under the bed before doing the seats. Thanks for any input.

I would have to see how the seats mounted, but sounds like some square tubing might be the easiest ticket.

I use square tubing and flat stock, the key is to ensure everything is fitted and measure a million times, I am putting electric ram seats in my burb and have them in at the moment, but I am going to replace some square stock with flat stock, to drop the seats about an inch, when your seats are in you want your vision to be about the middle of the windshield.

I removed all the factory dodge mounting and using grade 8 bolts with my steel. I want it to look good so when its done, Ill get it powder coated.

Bottom line is how good are your fab skills and do you have the basic tools to fab?
