20" wheels, with drop,
I know this has probab;y been brought up many times, I tried a search but it was too generic...
I was wondering if some of the members here could post their trucks (preferably shortbeds) on 20" wheels, with what drop they have. My truck is lowered, but I don't know what methods were used.. And I don't know where to start in ordering parts. Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here,

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
Alot of guys are doing the flip kit out back that will give you about 5-5.5" of drop. Then using spindles, and springs to get the front where you want them. Like a combo of 2.5" spindles, and a some cut off the spring. Just depends on how low you really want to go.

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
Thanks! I guess the stance I want is the stance on the yellow/white square that hill's put together. I have the specs on it in a magazine in my big truck but I'm away from it at the moment. I can't find any info on it online either

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
PM Cheese about it. He can probably tell you way more info than any magazine article will have. And you know if will be right too.

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
As mentioned, Colby (Cheese) is the one to ask about the Hills/LMC truck.

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
IIRC, the mag article with the build listed it, but I can't find any write ups of it online

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
The yellow truck has the mcgaughys 4/6 drop kit on it with "a little" more taken off the front.. Cheese said the billet specialties' are 20x10 all around with a 275/35/20.
The truck also looks good with the bonspeed palisades that picture can be seen on bonspeeds website. |

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
it sure is! I got the truck last november froma family friend in Co. I have wanted this truck since I was 15, and 12 years later it's mine! We lived in Longmont from 92-07 and I still spend time out there when I run out west

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
That truck most likely looks lower than normal drops because of the short sidewall on the tires...

sweet! there are a few pics of it in this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=317305 it was a full resto back in 94ish by a guy in iowa who then brought it to colorado and ended up selling it. I think it was a great buy, the more I find about it and learn about it.

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
5/7 w/20x8.5's & 255-40's; 20x10's & 295-40's. Front tires were too tall to drive w/the stock inner wheel wells....

Re: 20" wheels, with drop,
Thanks scoti!
My front tires are 275/35 that's what was on the wheels when I got them. Rear are a little taller. I need to figure out what mine has done but I think a 5/7 is what I need. Thanks all!

The truck looks good! I really like the last picture, cool how the street lights are refracting all over.
