At the very least, the wheelbase is different.

Re: 67-72 cab on a 79 frame ????
One of my buddie's ex son in laws did one and while it can be done not much fits as is.
He put a two wheel drive body on a 4x4 chassis so it might be a bit easier with a 2x4 but I don't think it will be all that much easier. He did this because my buddy had the late 70's 3/4 ton 4x4 sitting there with a bad body and good chassis. Unless you just don't have a usable chassis I can't see the wisdom of going to all the work to make it fit. It will still be a cobbled together truck. There are easy disk brake or five lug swaps on these trucks that take care of the things that most guys think they need to swap frames for. |

you'll need a flat frame on a 2 wheel drive, unless you want to do a body lift on a 2 wheel drive.

Re: 67-72 cab on a 79 frame ????
no way a bolt on, even a 4X4 would requre adjusting the wheel base and a custom body lift and a whole lotta odds and ends.

Re: 67-72 cab on a 79 frame ????
You need to take the mouse and click on the search button to get this to work.
It can be done, and I did a long time ago on my first truck in high school, but if you search it, there has been this same topic asked several times each year. I think if we ask Mudder, maybe we could have him make a sticky for this in the 4x4 section. You will need to either make new body mounts or re-use them from your original frame. Also, you will have to cut the frame as the wheelbases are different. Like I said above, contact a member here that goes by "Mudder", he is a great guy. Trevor
