Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
I have two trucks, one is worth about 3 to 4 grand and the other 5 to 6 grand. I have been refused coverage by both Hagerty, Grundy and some other classic vehicle insurance company because they are not pretty enough. Both trucks are stored in a garage and are driven about 500 miles a year. Right now I have them both insured by Allstate. I am paying $225 for 6 months on each one for liability only.
Any good deals out there for some old original non show trucks that are driven once in a while? |

Re: Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
I think Geico has a deal where you pay for the full amount through the year and then get a refund at the end of the year if you prove you only drove it so many miles..
That's how it was about 18 months ago anyway. |

Re: Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
I use American Collectors Insurance. Got a '72 with agreed value of $8000. I have Liability up to $100K, comp, and collision and pay $105.80 a year. Garage kept and I think I get up to 1500 miles a year. It may be 2000.
Phone:800-630-6302. www.americancollectors.com I called and talked to a lady, sent in pics of my truck and had insurance in about 2 hours. Really good people to deal with. Hope this helps a lot of ya as I've seen this out there a few times. Dale |

have you tried Barrett Jackson. Just curious if you searched on this. There are a couple of really informative threads about it.

Re: Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
Thanks Guys! That helps.
My searches online and on this site seemed to always lead to companies wanting to insure show vehicles. |

Re: Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
Heacock was the last one I checked with. It has to have nice paint to insure with them and all the other "Classic" vehicle insurers. That is the big problem I have. Both of my trucks are in nice shape and are interesting enough to show. But one has original paint/patina and the other one has faded paint with some rust specs.

Re: Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
Several of the big names for regular cars have a collector policy available as well. I have a policy through State Farm for mine listed as collector and it was only $45 for the six months (my record is squeeky clean). My truck is still original with very little work done to it so far and I have it valued at $4000 replacement through them.
I am actually surprised that Allstate doesn't have such a policy available, did you ask them for collector insurance?

Re: Cheap Insurance for an Old Truck
I talked to Progressive today. They said both trucks full coverage for one year $238.00. Sweet!
