04 Starting Problems
Hey Guys,
I have an 04 Silverado crew cab 4wd with 95,XXX miles on it. Ever since it has gotten cold it seems to have trouble starting. It started doing this on Christmas day I believe, although it did happen a couple months ago one time and I didn't give it much thought. I put a new battery in it in July. When you go to start it, you can turn the key on and all the accessories work but when you go to start it will not turn over. I have tried holding it and going back and forth to off and back on and nothing. After a little bit it just fires right up. Seems to be worse when its colder. Like this morning it was single digit weather. But after its warmed up and driving after a while it will start right up every time. I wondered if there was something that was taking long enough to warm up in the cold weather before it will crank? I am at a loss and was hoping someone could help out some. Sorry for the long post. Any and all ideas are appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

Re: 04 Starting Problems
Next time it happens put it in neutral, see what happens. if it will start in neutral but not park your neutral safty swich is going out. might be as simple as the starter relay. heres a starting system diagram.
