Re: Recession rods
Because they are cool. I actually like all makes and models and those old ford trucks are some pretty cool looking vehicles. But I am building a GMC.

Re: Recession rods
The first truck I owned was a 47 Ford. The Thunderbolt Greaseslapper. had a flathead that used 1 quart of oil every 20 miles, twin stacks that looked like the Queen Mary under full throttle. I kept the oil I drained at the service station. compression was so bad I had to park on hills so it would coast to build up enough rpms to build compresssion to fire. Also carried an extra set of spark plugs to cycle when it oil-fouled. Bought it for $40 and sold it for $50 with a busted rearend to a dirt track guy because is had a drive line not enclosed tube transmission.

Re: Recession rods
There is no doubt that is a cool truck, Ford made a lot of cool looking cars and trucks. I just happen to own Chevy's but, I'm just a classic car nut at heart. Don't let me see a 37-40 ford coupe that I could afford. I guess I never have to worry because I don't have that kind of money.lol
