How to identify Flowwmasters?
How can I tell which Flowmasters are on my truck?. I think they might be 50 series. They sound really good, but I have heard louder. I heard 40 series sounded the best. I wouldn't mind a little deeper tone. There were some serial numbers if I recall on the end of them. Would this tell me?

My flowmaster sheet says that the outside measurements tell the story. If the muffler case is 16" long then it is a 50 series. The 40 series is 13" long both are 4" thick and 9.75" wide. The 30 series is 17" long 10" wide and 5" thick. Hope this helps you out.

ddsmith,
Thanks for the info. I think mine are 40 series. I always heard they were the loudest, but I guess not. Mine sound good enough for now. Thanks again!

Mine have a part number tag on the muffler, but then again, they are 17 years old.

Dont forget the whole delta flow thing. my old 50 series flowmasters didnt have it, but my new ones on camaro do. Big difference in sound. I think 40s with delta flow are 14" long, not sure.
