Well for starters, what are the numbers on the ring gear? There should be a part number, a date, and the tooth count of the ring and pinion. This will be a start in figuring out just what it is.

the differential is a eaton positive locking manufactured for general motors for the truck 12 bolt
unless the gears are changed they were 3.73 41 -11
or its a miss marked dana posi trac but I think its an eaton

I figured it was a four series carrier, wasn't sure if it was an Eaton.
