Who can read junk yard grease pen?
I found these markings on the G30's transmission:
?????? 88K 3-16-92 REX To me it reads that "Rex" pulled the TH350 from a ??? with 88K miles on it in '92. Anyone have any ideas to what the first lines reads?

Re: Who can read junk yard grease pen?
I actually thought it might read "Dirt truck", as in a truck with a dump bed...
Could it have come from maybe a C30 Dump truck? Would it have had a TH350?

Re: Who can read junk yard grease pen?
Possibly the last time the filter and fluid was changed? Some lube shops do that for trans fluid and filter, and fuel filter replacements too.

Re: Who can read junk yard grease pen?
we do that with farm equipment. Engine hours, date, and name/Initials of the person who changed it. So maintenance markings would be a good bet

Re: Who can read junk yard grease pen?
B/A band adjustment and TRAFL trans flush 88K miles on 3/16/92 by Rex which could be the mechanic, the shop, or the shop dog
Maybe im watching too many episodes of Forensic Files but i saved the pic then clicked on edit and blew it up and up until i could almost read it... now if i could get the pan i could lift some fingerprints and after sampling your prints to eliminate yours i could track the guy down and ask him!!
