Porterbuilt Weld-in Step Notch

Here's some pics of our basic weld-in step notch. We sell it a couple different ways.... "Mostly Welded" for $249 and "Unwelded" for $175. The unwelded version will come tacked together to aid in installation. This notch is made from .188 P&O mild steel... NOT your typical hot rolled with all the mil-scale. It's big enough to lay out on a 31" tall tire, and can be trimmed down if running a shorter tire.

Re: Porterbuilt Weld-in Step Notch

Kind of a odd question, what is the minimum height I would need the step notch to be if I was running the stock style 15" rims. I don’t want to get a huge notch if I don’t need to, if i can have the axle 1/2" away or less I’m happy. I would like to lay frame though. Any thoughts would help. Thanks

Just let me know how overall tire diameter you plan on running... and I will give you a measurement on how deep to place the notch.

Re: Porterbuilt Weld-in Step Notch

That would depend on the height of tire your are running regardless of the rim size. If you plan to lay frame you will need to section a stock crossmember, Z the frame, or run an aftermarket crossmember.
