1972 Canadian Decode queston
Greetings from snow-covered Canada
I am reading from the "Service Parts Identification" sticker on inside of glove box ... Upper right corner is says "SE - FT0625061" Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks Happy freaking Winter. Kent kent@kentwaddington.com |

Good Question! If you go to the SPID picture thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=282003 the SE box is blank in most of the SPID pictures from our US neighbors. Canadian trucks seem to have this box filled in. Mine is FT0707964 on my Oshawa built GMC. Anybody else have any info on what this is?

SE is special equipment... no clue what the equipment is, nor the code.

Im pretty sure SE means Serial (number) Ive had 6 or 7 Oshawa truck. All the serial numbers start with FTO as far as I can tell. I don’t think there is any decoding it. Not sure if it has a purpose either since the VIN is already on the sticker. Oh and so much for snow… nothing here. Had to drive up north to snowmobile.

Strange ... and thanks everyone for the replies. Those numbers must mean something..... but WHAT?
We also have a 1970 GMC Suburban and there isn't anything printed in the "SE" space on the glove box sticker. I guess it will remain one of life's mysteries ... right up there with why would anyone in their right mind spend thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars to restore an old rusty piece of crap. How many months till spring? |

Longhorn man is right-SE stands for Special Equipment. I have my Canadian GMC Truck Shop Manual and that's what SE stands for. Unfortunately, no information on the numbers in the book for SE.
GM has a website for this. Not sure what they charge for looking up numbers.
