Will a 71 GMC door panel fit a 72 GMC?

When changing out the 72 GMC grille to a Chevy grille, does core support have to be changed? If so, does anyone have a 72 Chevy grille & core support for sale?

The door panel will fit, but the window crank and inner door handle will stick out quite a bit, as the 72' door panels are thicker.

Yes, the core support will have to be changed out with converting to another model. Also, the fenders are not the same between Chevy and GMC. Pretty much, you can only use your hood if it's a 69-72 Chevy hood on a 69-72 GMC, everything else does not match up. Trevor

i wanna do the same thing to my 72 chevy door panels
what could i do besides change out the door internals to have 71 panels fit good?

They will fit fine, but the regulators will stick out about an extra inch to inch and a half. It looks pretty goofy, but you can get by with it. There is nothing else you can do to not make the combination look weird. You must get 1968-1971 regulators. Not sure if 67' is the same. The good news is that it shouldn't be very hard to find those regulators as compared to 72's. Why you guys wanting to change them out? 72' door panels look pretty good, well they are my favorite door panels out of the years. You can't beat them with the aluminum woodgrain panels. Trevor

yeah i have the 72 chyenne panels i mean i like them but i dont like that it is plastic and the sun is starting to get to them and the wood is all faded and i was thinking about going with a set of 71 cheyenne panels because i really like them

to properly do it you need 67-71 regulators on both sides as well as 67-71 door hardware
